Music ownership once came at a relatively high cost and level of commitment, but the first decade of the 21st century allowed music to be accessed in a myriad of new ways.
From digital downloads (all legal, of course) to file sharing to burned CDs, we were suddenly curators of our own compilations. This led to experimentation across genres and eclecticism of tastes – for listeners and artists, alike.
The selection of tunes contained within this playlist may very well resemble your own compilations from yester-decade, burned to a CD still stashed at the back of your glovebox. (Speaking of which – do cars even play CDs anymore?!)
